  Happy Birthday to Edwin Ayoung  March 19th When Steel Talks extends Birthday Greetings to composer and performing artist “Crazy” - Edwin Ayoung  Edwin Ayoung or “Crazy” - born Edwin Ayoung in 1944, on Maraval Road in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad of a Venezuelan mother and Trinidadian father of Chinese descent, was - in his youth - as skilled and competitive in his country’s national pastime of cricket, as he has been now for years as a world-travelled musician, performing artist and composer. Though dubbed “The Loveable Lunatic of Soca,” Ayoung has time and again not been given his due in his native land, yet remains one of the most commercially successful artists on the international soca scene. An experimentalist, he pioneered the unique musical genre known as Parang Soca and played a leading role in promoting Chutney Soca. It looked so “obzocky” and “cumbersome.” Then I was left no option but to play the 6 bass and I was hesitant, but as soon as I played the first song I learned “Feeling hot hot hot” I knew that the bass and I would have an everlasting bond. Khan Cordice June 26th When Steel Talks extends Birthday Greetings to panist Khan Cordice Even at a younger age, Khan’s talent was set in stone, when as a mere teenager he surpassed veteran musicians in the field of arranging in the  Moods of Pan  festival in his country back in 2008,  triumphing that night .  Months later he proceeded to repeat his winning ways and garner more accolades in the even larger annual steelband music competition known as ‘Panorama.’ Now, with the formalities (music degrees) under his belt, and an even wider worldview of music at his command, a humble but quietly confident Khan Cordice is set to change the world - one initiative, and one student at a time in his country, sharing his knowledge and experience. A great loss to the pan world for sure. There is only one Clive Bradley. There is no one who does a panorama tune like Clive Bradley. He has his style which was very effective. He looked at a song and lyrics and used that. The guy is genius.
