When Steel Talks extends our sincere condolence to the family and friends of the multitalented Janine Charles-Farray.  We are in a state of shock. It was only yesterday you communicated with us.  


All I want for Christmas is a Pan man - Janine Charles-Farray

....Contralto soloist, Janine Charles-Farray, swept the stage at TT’s 2018 Music Festival. Her spoils included the Marie Dupres Memorial trophy for success in the Ladies Oratoria Class, the Havelock Nelson Cup for Ladies Operatic Aria, the Dr George Nelson H Wattley Memorial Trophy for most outstanding Operatic Aria, the Soroptimists International of San Fernando trophy for Contralto Solo, and the TTMFA Oratorio trophy for most outstanding Oratorio.

“Singing and performing is a side of my personality and my life that I have left in its natural state – spontaneous, fun, and unpredictable,” said Charles-Farray of her long-standing interest in singing and performing. A long-time member of the celebrated Lydians Choir, she was trained and encouraged to perform by the revered Pat Bishop, one of TT’s legendary musical directors....

James Clarkson   April 21st When Steel Talks extends Birthday Greetings to panist James Clarkson James Clarkson was born in Grenada on 21 April 1943 and has had a distinguished lifelong career in music with early exposure at the age of 12. He later joined the band of the Royal Grenada Police Force, appeared on stage with his father’s band, and by 17 was a member of the band of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force as lead arranger and first trumpet player. By 23 years of age, he was the Director of Music of the band of the Royal Grenada Police Force, and soon became the arranger for the very successful Republic Bank Angel Harps Steel Orchestra , a post he still holds today. The Officers and Ranks of the Royal, Grenada Police Force (R.G.P.F.) take this opportunity to thank Commissioner James Clarkson OBE, QPM, Lmus, F.
