March is the month we celebrate Women. A few weeks ago we laid to rest the most brilliant, humble and caring woman I've ever known. Mommy loved her plants, children, Georgetown basketball, and of course Pan. March 23 was her birthday.

  Happy Birthday to Edwin Ayoung  March 19th When Steel Talks extends Birthday Greetings to composer and performing artist “Crazy” - Edwin Ayoung  Edwin Ayoung or “Crazy” - born Edwin Ayoung in 1944, on Maraval Road in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad of a Venezuelan mother and Trinidadian father of Chinese descent, was - in his youth - as skilled and competitive in his country’s national pastime of cricket, as he has been now for years as a world-travelled musician, performing artist and composer. Though dubbed “The Loveable Lunatic of Soca,” Ayoung has time and again not been given his due in his native land, yet remains one of the most commercially successful artists on the international soca scene. An experimentalist, he pioneered the unique musical genre known as Parang Soca and played a leading role in promoting Chutney Soca. Singing 'for fun' is a philosophy that Janine Charles-Farray has stuck to religiously for the last 20 years of her life. A long time lover of the 'soulful classics,' Janine Charles-Farray began singing in Primary school under the baton of Mrs. Charles of the St. Finbar's Girls RC School. Her love of singing grew during this period through experimentation with the popular music of the day such as R&B and Pop, as well as the classics of vintage ballads and religious music taught by her primary school music teacher.
