“He has taught basic music and steelpan performance to children in T&T and in the Caribbean region, particularly in the island of Saint Maarten. It was there he had the opportunity to work under Isidore York aka Mighty Dow, IRAWMA Hall of Famer and knighted under the Order of the Orange Nassau (Dutch Kingdom). In 2013, he also had the opportunity of being on two major projects; being part of the Siparia Deltones steel-band for the recording of the album "From Siparia to Soweto" with South African legend, Hugh Masekela. Also, he appeared in the movie PAN! Our Music Odyssey, and did lead playing a solo for the song "Rum and Coca Cola" for the vintage recordings of the soundtrack. For the movie, he worked among Ray Holman, and Andy Narell”

Devon Cumberbatch “I would love for the instrument to be as mainstream as the piano, guitar or violin. It may have a ways to go, being a fairly young creation, but I believe pan can progress, develop and infiltrate music of all cultures. I would love to see it as an instrument for all peoples, and universally accepted. Andre White Andre White’s name is synonymous with excellent in Steelpan. Whether arranging popular music for a 100-person orchestra, Composing the abundance of life-force in a jazz trio or left with the instrument alone on stage, White’s music is unmistakable in impact. It’s simple to call someone “prodigy” when they begin to teach themselves music at the age of 6; when he began playing with Long-Island based ADLIB Steel Orchestra. From those humble beginnings, he has become a 3-time Champion in the Annual WIADCA Steelband Panorama, a 3-time UK Panorama and a Finalist in TNT Panorama Competitions. ...The influence of pan spans a wide cross section of society quite apart from the class divisions, as pan was a stereotyped form in its early days. The steel pan and its music found work for idle hands which would otherwise be clawing at mischief at the Boys Club. This activity spearheaded under the tutorage of “Scrub”, can still be balled by testimony of person’s such as Victor Marquis who emerged from this effort.
