Pele’s mom (Celeste Arantes) is still alive. In 2022 she celebrated her 100th birthday. Pele's dad passed away in 1996 in Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil.  

Pele's dad, Dondinho (João Ramos do Nascimento) was a well-known Brazilian soccer player who played as a center-forward

Though dubbed “The Loveable Lunatic of Soca,” Ayoung has time and again not been given his due in his native land, yet remains one of the most commercially successful artists on the international soca scene. An experimentalist, he pioneered the unique musical genre known as Parang Soca and played a leading role in promoting Chutney Soca. Singing 'for fun' is a philosophy that Janine Charles-Farray has stuck to religiously for the last 20 years of her life.
